The Nurse-Midwifery Program at the School of Health Related Profession
The Nurse-midwifery program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Health Related Professions is an intensive program, both clinical and didactic, to prepare the post baccalaureate registered nurse for the successful performance on the certifying examination and for independent practice of professional nurse-midwifery. The program is based on a modified mastery learning curriculum. All qualified, behavioral, terminal objectives, sub-objectives and tasks are specified and organized into logical units of study (modules). The program, averaging twelve months in length, provides for the intensive development of skills and knowledge to deliver comprehensive health care services to the pregnant woman, the newborn and the family. The maximum length of time allocated to complete the program is fifty six weeks (56).
